David Fazio is a seasoned executive with more than 25 years of experience in financial leadership roles in the healthcare, youth, social services, and education sectors. Most recently, David served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Volunteers of America Greater New York, where he managed the agency’s $102 million annual budget and supervised a team of 27 staff.
Prior to his time at Volunteers of America Greater New York, David served as Chief Financial Officer at GMHC. In 2005, David founded Greater Good Consulting, where he provided individual and team consulting services to organizations and government agencies in areas ranging from financial management, accounting, and technology; human resources, benefits, and payroll management; to training, technical assistance and audit preparation.
As Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Commissioner of Child Care and Head Start at Administration for Children’s Services in New York, David managed the agency’s $2.4 billion annual budget and successfully lobbied to increase funds for children’s services by approximately $500 million annually since the agency was created. There he oversaw the City’s Child Care and Head Start programs which included over 500 staff, and he developed and implemented training seminars for Head Start parents and staff.
David currently serves on the boards of organizations including pet welfare organization Bideawee and the National LGBT Cancer Network.
David received his Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Masters of Public Policy in Human Services, Education and Labor from Harvard’s JFK School of Government.
