Cathryn is a Lead Consultant on FMA’s consulting team where she works with a variety of national and local nonprofit organizations to design and strengthen their financial systems, implement sector best practices, identify process efficiencies, and improve internal controls.  She specializes in interim CFO engagements for organizations grappling with vacancies and making strategic shifts to embrace growth or change. Her expertise can be relied on to provide stability, promote operational improvements and upgrade to best-practices.  Cathryn is one among several staff who have returned to FMA after distinguishing themselves in careers elsewhere in the nonprofit sector.

Cathryn rejoined FMA after nearly a decade at Single Stop USA where she ascended to Chief Finance and Administration Officer. At Single Stop USA, Cathryn managed the organization’s financial, accounting, and administrative functions, ensuring that Single Stop had the internal processes and infrastructure necessary to fulfill its mission. Duties included overseeing organization-wide reporting, overseeing the annual financial audit, developing and enforcing a fiscal policies and procedures manual, ensuring compliance with foundation and corporate grants and contracts, and developing grant budgets.  Cathryn has significant experience managing complex financial systems, diverse revenue streams, multi-site distribution models, and sub-grant programs.

In her prior years at FMA, as an Associate and then as a Consultant, Cathryn served as an outsourced financial professional for growing nonprofits and created budgeting and cash flow models for organizations with varying degrees of complexity. She is a graduate of New York University’s Stern School of Business where she received a B.S. in Finance and International Business, and she also holds an M.P.A. from New York University’s Wagner School of Public Service.
